September 14-17, 2010 - Fall Elderversity
Speaker: Pastor Arlyn Norris.
Special Music: Bob Floss
What's it all about you ask?
We will be taking a video journey to Kidulgala, Tanzania with Pastor Arlyn Norris and his fellow pilgrims. Experience the vitality of Christianity in a different land. Hear the stories of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Southern Diocese of the ELCA in Tanzania.
Reflect on the stories of Biblical travelers such as Abraham and Sarah, the Magi, and Joseph and Mary and what they can teach us about the practice of Christian pilgrimage to another culture and about our own pilgrimage through life. Drawing upon the teachings of the Old Testament prophets and Jesus, explore how we can help the poor in the Majority World without hurting them, or ourselves. Be prepared for a through-provoking and inspiring “trip!

October 23-24, 2010 - Women's Retreat
Speaker: Tami Trewet
We've heard that God works all things for His glory and that His perfect plan will prevail. That sounds great, at least when everything is going the way we have it planned. But what about in the trials, tragedies, and tribulations? Is God still at work? Does God still care? Is God still faithful?
Please come join us for our Women's Retreat 2010 as our speaker, Tami Trewet, takes us on a wild ride, using her powerful testimony to prove that yes- God is still at work, yes- God still cares, and yes- God is still faithful, even in the storms of life. You won't want to miss this exciting, beautiful, fall weekend at OLBC!

Not a scrapbooker or stamper? That's okay! Bring your own hobby or craft to work on. Everyone is welcome!
There will be scrapbooking and stamping materials available for purchase, classes available to learn something new, a massage therapist to ease your overworked body and pedicures just for fun. Devotional times will be scheduled throughout the weekend to replenish your spirit.

Spring Recharges 2011: Alpha and Omega
Revelation 22:13
April 1-3: Jr. Sr High (6-12th grade)
April 8-10: Jr./Sr. High (6-12th grade)
April 15-17: Jr High (6th-9th grade)
April 29- May 1: Trailblazers (4th-6th grade)
From cover to cover, as we read the Bible, we can see how God is active and involved in the world. The Bible is, in a sense, God's story. Yet it is also our story, and by understanding how these stories fit together, we can make sense of our own lives. We can see how Jesus really is the beginning and the end of all things. A great supplement to confirmation programs, this recharge will offer a big picture overview of the Bible, which is beneficial for all of us. Grab your friends and we'll see you next Spring! |
